rob mclennan's [poetry] blog
rob mclennan has been blogging fairly prolifically since 2003. i first became aware of him as a subscriber to his above/ground press, which is a small poetry publishing outfit printing and sharing affordable chapbooks.
i like to think of rob as part poet, part historian, part writer, and part blogger. his celebration of canadian poetry and support for canadian poets is so fantastic and admirable it is hard to think of a more important figure in the canadian lit/poetry scene (though his writing expands well past any formal borders and into the international scene as well). while reading his blog, you will find that he is as kind as he is knowledgeable. he publishes, shares, and champions up-and-coming, as well as established, poets with an infectious joy for writing and writers.
this blog is a must-read for anyone interested in poetry. it will certainly lead you down the most wonderful poetic rabbit holes and you will definitely find some new favourite poems and/or poets through his gracious writing.
